Think again! If you are a US soldier deployed overseas, you can still vote. You must fill out the National Mail Voter Registration Form which must be printed, completed, and mailed to the location listed in your state.

For more information, visit https://www.usa.gov/register-to-vote.

Requirements to Vote in MA

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be at least 16 years old to pre-register. (If you are getting your driver’s license or permit, you can also preregister at the RMV due to the Motor Voter Law!)
  • Must be 18 years old to actually vote by the election.
  • Must live in Massachusetts.
  • Cannot be incarcerated due to a felony conviction.

If you meet these requirements, you may apply to vote in person (at a local election office, at a voter registration event, or a MA RMV office), mail, or online.

Required Documents to Bring

  • Must have a government issued ID, such as a driver’s license or a Massachusetts ID.
  • The RMV must have a signature on file.
